Our fourth day took us to Dalat, a city of misty hills, cool weather, and a unique blend of history, art, and culture. Known as the “City of Eternal Spring,” Dalat’s charm unfolded through its rich heritage and artistic flair.
The day began with a visit to the Bao Dai Summer Palace, a historical landmark steeped in elegance and history. Once the residence of Vietnam’s last emperor, Bao Dai (1913–1997), the palace offers a glimpse into the life of royalty during his rule from 1949 to 1954. The vintage interiors, complete with period furniture and artifacts, paint a vivid picture of the emperor’s era and his connection to Dalat.
Next, we ventured into the whimsical world of the Crazy House. This architectural masterpiece is a blend of surreal art and boundless imagination. Walking through its twisting staircases, organic shapes, and fantastical rooms felt like stepping into a dreamscape. Every corner sparked curiosity, blending art and emotion into an unforgettable experience.

A visit to the Dalat Railway Station followed, where we marveled at its French-colonial architecture and historical charm. This station, home to an old steam locomotive, offers more than just a glimpse into the past—it’s a gateway to adventure. We boarded the train for a scenic 7-kilometer ride to Trai Mat, traveling through the lush vegetable farms that Dalat is famous for.
The journey’s highlight was a stop at the Linh Phuoc Pagoda. Known as the most vibrantly decorated temple in Dalat, its intricate mosaics, crafted from thousands of beer bottles and broken ceramics, dazzled us. The pagoda’s artistic details and serene atmosphere made it a truly unique cultural experience.
Day 4 in Dalat was a perfect combination of history, creativity, and natural beauty. Each stop offered a new perspective, making this day an unforgettable part of our journey.
